What this prototype is demonstrating

Four things the current catalog cannot do, all of them consequences of how the data is shaped rather than how the pages look.

  1. Typed products

    A pack carries battery fields, a charger carries charger fields, a holster carries neither. Nothing is stored in one flat table with fifty empty columns, so every filter on this page is live rather than showing only All.

  2. Compatibility as a relation

    Fit is typed once, on the pack. Charger and accessory pages render the reverse list automatically, so the two directions cannot contradict each other.

  3. Specs out of prose

    NSN numbers, input voltages and bay counts are fields, not sentences. That is what makes them filterable, indexable and machine readable.

  4. A build that refuses bad data

    npm run validate blocks the build on a broken reference, an obsolete part with no replacement, or a pack whose cell array cannot produce its stated voltage.
